About

In the general public eye, the frontiers of physics involve the very small or the very large.   However, in between is the marvelous frontier of emergent matter, a frontier that mixes the challenges of biology, quantum and soft matter, that spans problems as diverse as high temperature superconductivity to the emergent physics of the brain.

Colloquium Introductions is intended to provide a library of introductions to this new frontier, that will enable researchers in the fields of quantum, soft and biological matter to improve the visibility of condensed matter physics across the the scientific community and the general public.  These introductions are not complete seminars, but contain the motivating slides that explain in broad terms, the mission and dreams of the emergent frontier.

Contributions to the library are copy written under the Creative Commons attribution license which allows others to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit the author for the original creation.  We should like to invite authors to contribute to the ICAM ColloquiumIntroductions Library, helping us grow the outreach effort in condensed matter physics.
